I’ve always been drawn to photography because I like capturing people in a way that feels real. What started as just bringing a camera around everywhere eventually turned into something much bigger, and over the years photography has become a huge part of my life.
I’m naturally pretty laid back, and I think that shows in the way I photograph people. I’m not someone who wants every moment to feel overly posed or forced. Whether I’m photographing a wedding, engagement session, or just portraits, I want the experience to feel comfortable and natural so you can actually enjoy it instead of feeling like you’re constantly performing for the camera.
A lot of the people I work with tell me they were nervous about being in front of a camera, and honestly that’s completely normal. Most people aren’t models, and I don’t expect them to be. My approach is more about creating an environment where people can relax and be themselves, because that’s usually when the best photos happen.
Over the years I’ve had the chance to photograph so many different people and stories, and that’s probably my favorite part of this job. Every session, wedding, and event is different, and I never really take for granted that people trust me to document important moments in their lives.
